Well i got one of my XXX 12's and i took it out of the box and find the basket is cracked //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i mean the lip of the basket is literally starting to seperate! The sub was shipped with the sub sitting on a piece of wood and 3 2x4 studs supporting it. I figure the package being jolted around was to much for the frame... sucks...

So now it looks like i have to recone this bad boy... man... Where to start! More money in the pursuit of happiness! Whew!!

Here are a few pics...

No, JB Weld wont work imo. That's a very heavy motor assembly, even mounting those drivers horizontal without bracing the motor is asking for a cracked frame. No way id trust JB Weld with that motor.

Even broken those things are gorgeous, are they not? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

yeah i think i am just going to give it a complete overhaul... man this one sub just cost me a lot of money! it better be the best sounding speaker i ever buy!!!

same thing happened to a mt 12 someone shipped me jb weld will work temporarily i used it like that for 1 week waitin on the recone took it out and it was solid

new basket and recone hit up team psi

Damm, sackett! That is a disappointment. You'll get it fixed....
At least you didn't, or I hope you don't, have to spend $$ on 2 recone kits like I did after fvcking up the first time I tried.

HA HA HA! Man i really hope i dont need to buy 2 recone kits! ha! ill have to change the name of the sub...

i think my basket is just way to faded to even think about doing spot repairs... i wish it wasnt so bad.. jb weld prob would have been a short term solution for sure

If that an aluminum frame I bet you could get it welded locally for less than $50, maybe less if you know somebody
They can keep the temps very cool and nothing else would get damaged

hmmm interesting...

A brand new 12-spoke wont cost $50. And welding it would require a recone job anyway.
Not to mention, how many people here have ever welded cast aluminum before? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Its not easy.
