Sabotage computer?

So at work I have this stone age computer that IT will not replace. Everyone in the building, including an empty office has brand new computers with dual screen moniters. IT dept has LOADS of new computers just sitting around. How can I sabotage my computer sending it to computer hell without causing external physical damage?

go into the operating system and erase it all, once done it's **** near impossible to even tell what happened or why it won't work, I did this to my home computer on accident and still have yet to find a tech that can fix it and I have PAID them to try(not just a favor) and it still can't be figured out.

You must be going to some crappy tech's because if all you did was erase the OS a simple reformat would have it back up and running within an hour.

They can monitor my computers every move from their headquarters. Could they trace that?
yes and no....they probably don't give a fuck like most companies. Just get some wire cutters and pull off a cap off the motherboard or cut some traces on the board when the power is off. shit wont survive that and no IT guy will bother looking.

speaking from a IT person POV, dont bother with the OS... If your IT dept is somewhat compentent, they have a image for your computer that will take about 15 mins to get you back up and running.

you will want to make sure the computer has a hardware failure.

like someone said.. cut one of the traces.. take the heatsink off and turn it on and let it sit for 30 mins or so.

If it is a laptop, its more trickey as you have to take it apart, but same thing.

some (fine) metal shavings would do the trick too.. just have a can of air to blow the system out after the sparks.

could always "accidently" spill something on it.

drop it a couple of times.

pull the harddrive and drop it a couple of times, just not on too hard of a surface to leave marks and dents.

lol.. right .. even if your OS completely *** fucked your hard drive somehow (not likely) worst case scenario is you buy a new $50 HDD and swap the bish in install windows bam brand new computer

This is basicly a myth, it takes one hell of a magnet to affect a HD.
Not, we "destroy" our HDs on out of service machines by running a magnet across them. We normally shoot them with a .45 ACP as well ; ).

If you comp is being monitored, there really isn't much you can do software wise and not get in serious trouble. Shutting the comp down and taking the HD with you for some magnet coupling time would be a good way, if they replace the machine. I know sometimes we just replace the HDD depending on the age and use of the machine in question.

What if I just covered the rear vents? Would it overheat?
It would keep blue screening from fail safe. Try laying a non flammable object over the motherboard that heats her up quick. Also, if going magnet route, do it to your screen too. A huge blotch in the middle of your screen that won't go away should warrant new monitors.
