sa8 bottoming out???

why is my sa8 bottoming out??? Its in a .9 cu ft net box tuned to 33hz with a 2 in aero port... pushing about 550 watts to it... when I play songs like on my level and other songs with lows the sub bottoms out or tries to blow the cone off.... what's happening???

Box is too big for the amount of power you are running to it.

its unloading, you will seperate the cone from the spider or the spider will give if you do not quit playing it

what you are doing is hitting the underspider support ring on the top plate. my guess you have the 12 spoke basket?

i bet ur not tuned as low as you think you are and ur unloading, also shrink the box down to .5-.6cf net..

well I changed the tuning and it doesnt bottom out anymore unless it gets really low... gonna go with a new box 13x13x13 with tuned to 33 hz... I think i should be fine until the new box is built as long as I stay away from the lows...

yepp. too big of box if your sending over 500w to it. theres a hard box middleground with the big magnet 8's of having em play low with authority, and taking a lotta power.

now for 5 sa8's (future setup) would 4.5 cubes gross tuned to 33 hz with 2 four in aeros on an aq 2200 sound about right???

Why 5? You want to stick about .6 or so with the sa-8's, depending on power.

cuz my 18 doesnt fit in my ranger and I would like to have some air movement and hit in the high 140's or low 150's

You should usually do even number of subs to wire up correctly, it's much less stressful. What dimensions are you working with (you can pm me if you want)?
