If anything it would be the way the LOC is installed not the LOC itself. I personally used this exact LOC before I got my aftermarket kenwood deck and while the sound quality in the sub stage did change using the deck instead of the LOC it wasn't a night and day difference that would make someone go "OMFGBBQ" that sounded like s.h.i.t before. It was a more subtle difference in the sound. As long as the LC2i is tuned properly it can sound very good.
To the OP. When I was using the LC2i the settings I used on it were. Threshold (100%), think I had accubass around the 9 o'clock position and I think I had the bass boost knob on it all the way off. Your settings may vary considering it's in a completely different car and different amp. The LC2i does require quite a bit of fine tweaking to get it "just right" (as long as it's installed correctly as I previously stated).
