Got it all hooked up ready to go after a couple weeks of building and it sounds like crap. Sa8 v2 d2 in a 007 enclosure tuned at 32hz designed exclusively for the driver(sa8v2) running a mono block pbr500x1 amp via the lc2i loc for simple factory addons. No sq whatsoever only spl. Any ideas.... So far ive made adjustments to box location / direction and messed around with settings on amp/ loc. Plenty power just sounds ****** in a trunk. Please help me tom cruise. Help me CA family. Any ideas or tutoring would not only be welcomed but greatly appreciated.

Maybe something is wrong with the signal. I would suspect this if it was a cheap loc but, that is quite a nice one you have there. If you got this installed at a shop that could be the problem right there. Also without a quality head unit or processor it is hard to get a desired sq out of the equipment.

I personally have experience with the same subs. I bought 2 D2s and I've got them in 1.5 cube after displacement (approx.) box made of 1" HDF and tuned to approx 35hz (maybe a little lower) and I've been quite satisfied with them actually. While I will agree they do seem to lack a LITTLE bit on the SQ side I definitely wouldn't go as far to say that they have no SQ and only SPL. It might be your box tuning though. Sundown recommends a 35hz tuning. I also have these hooked up to an Audison LrX 5.1k @2ohms for roughly 1100w and they slam pretty good on a lot of different music. Some songs the bass can sound a little muddy but I just chalk that up to being bad mixing on the recording or the box not being quite right. I should also mention that I'm also running a Kenwood ddx419 head unit as well. I used to run an LoC as well and while the bass quality has improved switching to a proper head unit using an LoC doesn't provide horrible sound quality either. So if your setup is sounding that horrible to you I would say that something must be a little off somewhere. Probably in the box or a bad signal getting to the LoC. U need to make sure it's hooked up to the right channels. When I had mine installed the shop stupidly hooked it up to the factory subwoofers instead of the rear channels which made it sound like complete C.rap

Only thing is that jbl synthesis is surround sound......my loc is getting fed via stock sub...should I switch them to l/r rear?

Yes they should always be hooked up to the rear channels. Even if u have a factory woofer. That's what the shop did at first and sounded horrible. Once I got it properly hooked up to the rear channels instead it was perfect. Think it has something to do with the fact that your LoC needs to be fed a full range signal to output to your bass amp. Then use ur low pass crossover on the amp to set it to where u want after that.

And I had the exact same LoC as well. So I know it works well when hooked up properly. And once you do get it hooked up properly go easy on the gain cuz the lc2i provides a lot of extra voltage to the rcas I found. It's a wicked little LoC. Audiocontrol ftw

Cant find those wires nothing protruding into the trunk accept the woofer wires...2006 avalon xls
Maybe u might have to take the cover off the rear deck or wherever your rear speakers are located to get to the wires. The wires for all the speakers in my G6 were all clearly visible hanging right on the upper section of the trunk deck. But once you find the right wires just use some T-taps to tap into the wires and run to the LOC. Try looking online for where your wiring is located and also what the color coding of the wires are do u kno you don't get them mixed up. That's what the shop that did mine screwed up on was the colors they tapped into.

I was just reading online about people tapping their LoC into the factory subwoofer and having it work OK. But from my experience using the rear channels worked way better. The only thing is that when you adjust the fader to the front channels it will also adjust the sub volume. But unless your the type to constantly adjust your fader you should be fine lol.

And I'm curious to find out what you mean when you say the sub has NO SQ? What kind of music were you playing? Give me an example of some songs you were listening to and weren't happy with and ill try to get a vid up tomorrow of what mine sound like on those songs. You could also check out this vid I did too. Did a couple metal songs and some bassy tracks to show off the SQL of these subs. Got other vids of them too (dubstep and bass tracks) just check out my channel on there if you wanna check out the rest to compare. And I can make a vid for ya too.

Its not the box... It is probably the LOC
If anything it would be the way the LOC is installed not the LOC itself. I personally used this exact LOC before I got my aftermarket kenwood deck and while the sound quality in the sub stage did change using the deck instead of the LOC it wasn't a night and day difference that would make someone go "OMFGBBQ" that sounded like s.h.i.t before. It was a more subtle difference in the sound. As long as the LC2i is tuned properly it can sound very good.

To the OP. When I was using the LC2i the settings I used on it were. Threshold (100%), think I had accubass around the 9 o'clock position and I think I had the bass boost knob on it all the way off. Your settings may vary considering it's in a completely different car and different amp. The LC2i does require quite a bit of fine tweaking to get it "just right" (as long as it's installed correctly as I previously stated).
