whats the most you would throw at a single d2 sa8 daily? thinking about getting a DD SS1A which does about 750+@ 1 ohm and just be very conservative on the gains. to much for daily? what amp do you recommend? thanks

4-layer copper.

Most likely an 8-layer flat aluminum would fit the gap... have not tried yet but it will in the SA-10,12,15 motor.

i got about 600 -700 at 2 ohm on 1 with a .8 with 4 in port i can rip the spiders out no problem they really have to be at max excursion. the coil can take the watts all day. it gets loud for 1 8.

^ how are you ripping the spider out? with good ca glue and a single its almost imposible without tearing a spider. several spiders yes they can be ripped off.

The build house glue isn't CA -- it's a different glue... brown glue of some sort.

The surface area of glue vs. motor strength on the 8s can pull it loose at the spider travel limits as all the force hits that landing glue when the spider cannot continue moving. At the rated 400 watts RMS in the suggested small box this is still all but impossible... it only happens in large enclosures with over 400 watts.

On the 12s we haven't had one come off yet as the surface area of glue is significantly higher and motor force is the same + more mechanical throw on the spider.

I'll be bolting them down on the next run of SA-8s based on that fact that everyone wants to hit these with at least 50% over rated power but I'd say people will start breaking something else then //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They have a triple joint re-enforcement ring as well so likely won't be there either. Cone is also super strong on these guys too. Always interesting to see what people do to drivers in the field.

Just as another comparison to re-iterate the motor power of these little guys :

SA-8 D2 motor force = 43% stronger than S4 RLI8 and 104% stronger than D4 RLI8 and DD 1508 D4

SA-8 D4 motor force = 17% stronger than S4 RLI8 and 68% stronger than D4 RLI8 and DD 1508 D4
