SA-12 question

I just bought an SA-12 from what I hear they are very good subs but im just not feeling it yet I know I have it WAY underpowered at only 200rms but I notice its not reproducing good sound either it misses alot of lower end notes I dont know if its because of my amp or my box. The box is a prefab ported box at about 1.3cu(sa-12 is recommended for 2.0cu ported) and it says its tuned to 33hz. What do you think my problem could be?

Your problem is definitely the small prefab box and little power. If you have a smaller box then you need more power, if you have your box bigger thus more efficient then you can run lower power. But you cant do both.

so im planning on getting a new amp this weekend you guys are saying it will sound better with the more power, and with the new amp and a bigger box it will sound even better correct?

i have no clue what type of amp im getting yet and im most likely going to have to get a custom box made because prefab i cant even find anything with the right specs for the sub so ill have someone make me a 2 cube box tuned to around 30-35hz unless anyone else recommends differently?

get ram to design ya one, build it, get a onyx 1000 or something around those lines man. you will be set and happy
