s12l7 spl/deep bass enclosure in Kicker manual

I'm going to be running a single 12" Kicker S12L7 with the ZX750.1 amp.

I was wanting to lower the tuning of the box so i can get some better SQ out of it.

It's on page 27

I believe all i have to do is lengthen the port, but i don't really know what frequency i should tune it to. As the design stands, the box is 3.25cf@37Hz. I'm thinking i want it tuned at ~30-32. Would that be any better SQ? What's your advice? How much would i have to lengthen the port to get that frequency.

Also the manual says to have a subsonic filter set @25Hz at 24dB/octave. My zx750.1 amp has a filter, but its only 12dB/octave. Should i get a seperate filter or will mine be good enough?

the resonant frequency on my sub is 34Hz, should i tune it to that?

face it ur not gonna get sq out of it but if u want to try tune like 32 hz

from what i've read, L7s tune to 34hz, higher would yield more output, you won't have no SQ with L7s. 32 is fine too, but nothing drastic like 28

i know i won't have SQ, i'm just looking for an improvement on the enclosure.

Do you think my subsonic filter on the zx750.1 will be good enough or should i buy a seperate one?
