S10 Milage

What do you all think about milage on a Chevy S10 or Ford Ranger? What would you say is too many miles for a Chevy and/or Ford??

How about a 1996 or 1997? Do you think that Chevy and Ford are still good over 100,000?

well for a s10 or ranger that is not really alot because that is what i was lokin to buy and they all have alot of miles but like my grandpas truck is a 97 silverado and it has 85,000 adn my pathfinder is a 87 and it has 194,000 but no that is not really alot for that style truck

Highway miles or city cruising miles?

If its highway miles thats good, beecause the engine wasnt being ran really hard or all the stop and go junk that you get in the city. Chances are the drivetrain and everything else is still in good shape. I'd personally go for the chevy over the ford, but thats just personal preference.

Fords just feel cheaply made and constructed when I get in them. Everything is plastic. Oh well... just my opinion.

it all depends on the prev. owners.....if they took good care of it....but dont expect not to have any maintence stuff start going out on it tho

All depends on who owned it before you, how they drove it, how well they kept up on the maintanence...hard to tell unless you do some research.

Alright...I have a Nissan that is at 192,000 and still running so I know it's possible. I thin I will go with the S10.

had a 91 toyota pickup that had 270,000 before it finally kicked over...and that was w/ me running it all to hell....

transmission might go out. maybe the clutch. i'd go chevy and make sure it wasn't a farmers truck before. u might have to replace some hoses or something but i think one would run pretty well.
