Running speaker wires w/power wire...

Hi,

Will running speaker wire with power wire cause noise? I have the RCA running on the passenger side along with the passenger door speaker wires. I want to run the power wire down the driver side along with the driver door speaker wires, which that induce noise? Thanks!

Power wire=DC. Signal wire (RCA and Speaker)=AC. The bottom line is that it isn't a problem. DC power wires will not induce noise into an AC signal wire. Think of it this way if you want: If you use a chassis ground, you would have to run your signal wires away from your chassis to keep them away from your power wires. Highly impractical and wholly unnecessary.

Just digging up an old topic but I have a question, I have a 2005 Magnum that has the battery is located in the trunk factory...I am going to be running components in my front doors and wondering if I run the rcas down the driver side with the driver speaker wires and run the other set of speaker wires down the pass side where the factory power to alternator wire is, am I going to get intereference or whine in the pass component? I am planning on putting the amps and crossovers in a false floor in the rear hatch area...

Well I got everything installed today and unfortunately I have some alt whine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I ran 2 really good sets of Rcas(Middle of the line they are $50/pr) off of my alpine w205 to the PDX amp I mounted the crossovers above the driver kickpanels up front...The battery is located in the trunk, so I ran the RCAs and Remote Wire down the opposite side as the main Power feed to the battery, ran a 6ft ground from the amp to the battery in the trunk which I dont know if that could be a problem? I was going to try and run a shorter ground to under the seat to a bolt or something and see if that may fix it? Any other reasons why Id have interference?

Easiest way to check is this: Pull the RCA's from your amps, then turn on the system. If the noise is still there, then your amp grounds are to blame. If it is gone, problem is in your headunit.
