Running out of gas on the lake.

I read over it a couple times..
Makes sense to me.

I do agree, however, that a couple gallons of extra gas should be kept on the boat.
WTF is a main lake vs. a clam bay?

An why the hell are you pushing a boat from the shore. You should be pushing it to the shore since that's where the gas is.

They do make large gas containers you know... at work fuels are kept away from the flightline in huge JP-8 containers/drums... if they are approved to hold JP-8, then I assume normal pump gas would also be within the law... but thats just me assuming saving ~$2 on 50+ gallons of gas would be worth it... different strokes for different folks!
I didn't think about that. I remember seeing some 20+ gallon barrels at northern tool you can buy with a built in hand pump/siphon... not sure if they are approved to pump gas in though. Im sure most gas stations couldnt give 2 shits about it though.

The lake is 15000 acres, so not a small lake... The lake has many bays, there are a couple parts which are considered MAIN lakes, they are the biggest sections and are not considered bays, and it's really rough out there.

And gas was a couple miles away from where we were, and we really didn't want to run our boat into people retaining walls/ boats.. Which is why we were trying to get away from shore.

your talking about the "main channel" right? meaning the most open and most used part of the lake?

Where did he say that he sexed the ladies?
Well yesterday we took the boat out for the day.
We get some girls off, and then they give us head to get gas. On our way to finding some we run out.

We have to call a taxi service to bring us gas and rubbers.

Cost 85$ for 5 gallons and a box of rubbers, and them to bring it out.

and we were stuck for about an hour with anal ***.

Really sucked, and I will never put myself in that position again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Heh reminds me of my boating issues...

First issue we ran into was after rebuilding the Ford 302 that powered the boat we got it running all well and good and then we put some water into the engine and the oil pressure shot through the roof. We took the heads off and found a dime sized hole in the wall of cylinder 3. Fun times. Got a new block and then....

Second time when me and my buddy took a boat that we had fixed up out on the lake the rockers started ticking. We are going back across the lake to fix it and it starts to sound worse, my buddy looks at me and says "you think we'll make it?" I was about to say "Yea I think so" when we hear a loud CLUNK and everything shut off. We ended up throwing and bending a rod and were sitting out in the middle of the lake. Luckily one of his neighbors towed us back to his house.

Third time we got stuck we finally ironed out all the issues and were testing its agility. Well this was probably a poor decision in retrospect because he cut it right, it turned right, went to cut it back left and it kept going right... Broke the steering cable in half! We ended up reaching under the boat and manually turning the rudder in order to return to his house. Took us about an hour to get back.
