Running an amp at .25 ohms

hmmm so start at 0 volume and cranck it to 3/4 volume... ive never heard of that constraint feature in an amp before but u learn something new every day lol... i mean the woofers will be able to take pretty much any power level i throw at them...its the amp im worried about... but does my electrical look like it can handle 3 second bursts for iasca and db drag spl? ( i doubt it will handle bass race or basss boxing with the electrical i have)
If you're using the bass knob I'd use that to roll into the burp. I know with my HU isn't a shorter, smoother turn than the volume knob.

start at like mid volume then turn it up to your max volume you would burp at. Just don't have it paused, turned all the way up and then unpause it.

That quick surge or power from unpausing at full volume would draw a ton of current compared to rolling into the volume

ok very nice... and yes i would us the gain knob so should i start at mid volume and turn it up to 3/4s, then turn the gain from 0 to my spl level? basically rolling up both volumes at different times?

No, have the gain on the amp at a set level. Have the volume on your headunit at the max level you would have it at. When your run starts have the bass knob at 0...turn it up to max for 2-3 seconds then back down

So you play just a quick burp, enough to register on the meter

I have the sub level on the HU where I want it, unpause and roll up the volume quickly and then pause it again. Takes about 3-4 seconds. If you find the amp going into protect too soon you might need to lower the sub level or SLA on your HU.

Let your car run for 20-30 minutes before you meter, so your batts are fully charged

ohhh ok... that should work then... and btw your not allowed to rev you engine during your run at all correct? but before hand you can up to 1200 rpm i think

How is your box setup? What frequency did you use? Idk think on same power you could get a couple more dbs . Try moving the seats, the visors, the box and use a shiny dash protectant and wash your windows inside

if you have a bass knob then do it this way, I just never use them so I have to roll up the volume instead of the gain

my box is set up so its woofers up port back... heres a pic Matt Azam | Facebook.... and i had it metered and the loudest frequency was 49 hz so i burped it at that frequency and it was actually lower than when i played lil jon 5 minutes later... and yes i think there should deff be more dbs then there is... and when i metered it the seats were up and i will clean the car before hand as well
