running a switch...

Just about any SPST (single pole single throw) switch will work. It just needs an "on" position and an "off" position. The REM wire doesn't have much current at all going through it (less than 1A), so it doesn't need to be anything beefy. Just needs to be able to handle 12VDC.

Radioshack would likely have a wider selection, if there is one near you.

Something like this would work well.

Or this

lols... i went the extra mile with mine, i hooked the switch to the remote wire, then on the output of the switch, i have the pos lead for an LED soldered to it, and the led is grounded the same place as my HU, so when i turn the amp on, the LED comes on too... ill try to post a pic. Its pretty cool. Everyone who rides with me always asks about the switch, and they think its pretty da mn neat. I thought it was kind of original. BTW i used a rocker type switch, instead of the gaudy chrome lever-looking switches, because i thought it flowed better with the interior.

Phone pics are crappy, but they get teh job dun!!
