alright, just wondering if i run my 12" Kicker L7 for a long time if it will kill it. I will be finishing up school in the next couple of weeks and driving back home for the summer, about 14hrs. wouldnt have teh sub slamming all of the 14hrs, but for some if not most.

so would this be extremely harmful or what?

Only run it 10 hours, If you hit the 14 hour mark it will implode causing a gap in the space time continuum.
Do not open the WORM hole!
well if you're going north you can add an hour to this theory //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Is your box ported? i sure hope with this sub. Anyway if you really are pushing it much you'll smell coil way before its totally burned out.

First off I dont see how you can stand the bass that long, I cant turn mine on longer than 30 minutes, because I start feeling sick and my ears hurt.

All you gotta do is just smell for a funky smell that smells like burning electronics and just turn it off so it can cool down, if your too late then your sub will blow.

Bad thing is if you do blow it, you'll have to buy a whole new sub, no recones with those subs.

Not exactly, to find out for sure he will have to use Gauss's law to accuately determine the electric flux through the motor but on only 1/4 pi of the surface area, then taking the cross product of it and the electric field lines, to find the power vector, then determine the magnitude and direction of the vector and then convert units to solve for the work done by the amplifier to the subwoofer, which would yield him units of Joules. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I;m used to bass, I work at a bar, so after awhile it just becomes meh.....but as for run length, if i do start to smell burning electronics and then proceed to turn it off, does that only temp fix it? like i mean will that still have already done harm to it.

What if i were to run it lets say at half power would it be fine for teh whole way.....or is it one of those things where all depends on a wide variety of variables?

Run your distorted underpowered sub as much as you want. You won't harm it.

It's more likely you'll set fire to your car because you're overdriving a 300 watt amp trying to power a 1000 watt speaker.

I'll be sure to keep a fire extinguisher handy:D:D
