i have a old mtx blue thunder amp. the input for the power and ground basically supports 8 guage but i am trying to run 4 guage to it. i have heard this amp really need 4 guage to perform well. is there anything i can do for this?
Yes. The point of having thick wire is just so you can carry the current a long way. Thicker is always better, but small things like trimming a few strands off won't matter, or doing a short jump of a few inches or so of a smaller gauge from a distro block or a battery to the amp.
