Running 2 SA-12 with a single SA-8

Thinking about running two 12s with an 8 in the center, Using the space below the 8 that wont be needed due to the smaller box for my second battery. Question is will a system like this work well? could it be setup to use the 8 to hit a bit higher than the 12s and make a puncher system that can still play low?

gee fellas before responding with dumb as **** perhaps ask a few questions. The 8 would be on its own amp, meaning its own passband, and the enclousers would be in one box but seperate meaning i could optimize the 8 for say 60hz and the 12s for 32hz on the ports.

You should use that space to get some nice Mid Bass (If you want to keep Sundown, get the Neopro 8 or 10). It will sound weird running multiple sized subs like that and an actual subwoofer wouldn't work as midbass that well.|

The 12s would still sound great at 60Hz even with a 32Hz tuning. Midbass speakers would be ideal to truly makeup for the lack of response from the 12s. Set the filters so that they fill in the gap from the fronstage to the substage.

What you are trying has been done before. Basically the 8 has its own bandpass, own amp and usually the space is seperate and has its own tuning/port from the 12". People let the 8 play from 100 to 60 and then let the 12" play from 60 down with a low tuning. Basically it is an attempt to get the subs to play 20 to 100 flat and using the benefit of a large sub to play low and the smaller sub to pick up high into the midbass. Wont sound weird if done correctly. The only downside is depending on how high you play the 8", midbass can be localized and heard. If you have T/A and keep everything under 100hz, you can minimize that effect.
