Rules in the Thunderdome....

I made a similar post a while back about Censorship in the Dome. I feel it is ridiculous and that the owners/admins of the site are being greedy with Google Ads revenue.

I moderate another forum and we have almost ZERO rules on that forum. Everyone moderates themselves and if someone gets out of control, we let that person know they are not tolerated on our site (personally). The admin makes his money off of direct advertising banners/affiliate programs. NOT Google AdWords/AdSense. F--- Google. They are a front for the government spy programs, and receive my tax dollars to use against me. I won't support any organizations like that and I've told the admins/mods many times how much this place ***** because of their rules.

There's a reason a lot of people come to CA.com to mess around, because the best tech forums are on DIYMA, the12volt.com and several other sites.

If you did your research you would have seen this discussed already and gotten your answer from there. Thus, this thread would have had no reason to exist because you would already know why we can't have nice things.

The thunderdome does not have very many rules. If you require the use of ***** pics and to use the N word, in order to have fun, then there is something really wrong with you.

The word censor is global. Its not a rule. When is the last time someone got banned for bypassing the word censor? Never.

Yes, you did make a similar post a while back, and I'll say the same thing this time that I did then. If you think censorship is a problem here, try your luck at another car audio forum. Many of them dont let you badmouth the owner, or the admins, or the rules, etc. Yes, we have a few rules ITT, but very few, and we allow people to express their opini0ons on them, even if it is not favorable. Censorship? I dont think you truly understand that word.

As for being 'greedy', whatever man. I guess if you owned this website, and weren't into car audio at all, like Goob, you wouldn't want to/expect to turn a profit for all the work you do here either, right? Right. I guess when you work, and expect to get paid for it, you are being 'greedy' too.

The reason some people view this site as just to 'mess around' while going elsewhere for tech info, is EXACTLY because the rules were so lax for so long that the tech sections became grand central station for trolling, harassment, and general immaturity. Or, are you suggesting other sites are viewed as good tech sites because you can say the N word while posting that tech info? Maybe allowing nude pics is what draws in all those people with tech info?

As for the website you moderate... lets look at what you said. It has 'almost ZERO rules'. First off, the thunderdome has how many rules? Beyond the regular rules every site has, like no illegal activity, there are basically only two rules... no nude pics, no N word. OMG, you are so horribly censored here! lul Personally, Id rather visit a site like this where the rules are known, instead of a site like you say you moderate, where there are 'almost zero rules' and people just get banned once an admin gets tired of them (even though they obviously arent breaking any rules). *shrug* If you dont like knowing what the rules are here, so you can feel secure you wont get banned because you simply rubbed a moderator the wrong way today, then feel free to go to another site instead. We aren't trying to 'censor' anyone's opinion here, we arent trying to ban people we have personal feelings about, and we aren't suppressing anyone's negative opinions of this site or its rules.
