Rubber cement to fix tear in surround?

I slipped when installing a 10" sub in the box today, and my drill popped through it making maybe a 3/4" jagged tear in the surround. The surround is "triple treated foam" if that makes a difference. The only thing i have around to fix it with is elmers rubber cement. I searched and seen that silicon is good but i dont have any right now, if need be ill go get some but will rubber cement do?
