Lowes has 15% off every tool until the 11th of this month. If you buy the Porter Cable router, there is also two $50 ($100 total) rebates you can get which brings the cost of the router down to $137ish. The Porter Cable router was in the top 3ranking in a couple of the wood working magazines. The Bosch and Festool routers are also very nice. I have never heard/ read anything about the Hitachi stuff.

Use a 3/4, 1/2, 3/8 and 1/4 all fairly regularly. Only use the 3/4 on the table though.
The 3/4 makes for really nice port flares.

and as for hitachi, trust me, they are good tools...excellent quality on everything i've read on...powerful as hell 18v drills, 5yr warranty's, i'm just not a fan of their alien design...
