so you think a $28 jig is going to make it to market? i hate to be "that guy" but I will be. RF did this for their dealers years back and it didn't work. they did a circle jig with just their speaker cut out sizes and pretty much sold a hand full if that. they stopped doing it b/c they didn't sell. even if you did this you have to think how many are you really going to sell, maybe a hand full. guys that use a router to cut circles worth anything either use the jasper jig or perfect circle jig b/c of how many applications it covers for the price. TM did a full replica of the jasper jig in aluminum and he doesn't move them like people made him think it would. he's done a few pre-orders with pricing barely covering expenses and each order had less than 20 people.A complete replica no... A grid of popular manufactures for easy access to cutting. And another grid listing just circle sizes. Yes, cheaper than a jasper jig. Jaspers run ~$40 these will at least 40% cheaper with option of customization.
I'm not looking to make a fortune or famous for a jig you can make with any scrap you have laying around. I want to bring something to the bass head community that can be useful. I know the community is small, but I'm sure someone can use this. I want to give to the community, not profit and laugh when you could have made it yourself.so you think a $28 jig is going to make it to market? i hate to be "that guy" but I will be. as someone who has tried to offer services, it's not worth the time man. i had 8 DD1s out for rental, the amount of time i put into it was just not worth it. the 12v community isn't small by any means, it's a multi billion dollar industry. you looking to offer something that already exist with more flexibility for a price that doesn't justify it's existence. any body using a router to cut circles is going to shell out at least the $40+ on a jasper jig b/c it covers so many sizes. you can do whatever you want but i'm just giving you first hand experience that it's not going to be worth the time you're going to put into it. i can't tell you the number of people that I see on a regular basis attempt to do an installation their self only to have me undo all the junk they did than do it right b/c someone kept telling them "it's easy" or "my boy can do it". if you are doing it just for you to use than great but you have to consider the money someone put into getting the tools needed to use this type of jig. there has not been anything installation wise that hasn't existed for years.I'm not looking to make a fortune or famous for a jig you can make with any scrap you have laying around. I would like a metal Jesper jig, anything else is pointless in my eyes
D bag u don't know me to classify me as "you people" I take care of all my equipment but I don't need to explain that to you. He said he could do it for a faction of the price, I would pay the same as a jasper if someone made it in a metal because it'll last longer not cause I throw it around like it's worthless. Your not interested in one then stay out of the thread. Why because it's made from metal?? Which costs more to make/manufacture?
People like you don't realize that if you buy something and take care of it instead of treating it like a red headed step child, should last you a long time. It's called care.
