route bass control and wire custom fan

ok, about the re-routing, all i need to know, is where the hell should i take my remote bass control for my amp to and through? right now its just poking through the rear seat, but if the seat is completely closed, it would pinch it. now with the fan wiring. i stole a fan out of a computer i decided to scrap and throw away, and it turns out that the wires on it are not long enough to put it where i figured, but im not even sure i want it there. if you look at my gallery at my amp, youll see where it is, and wha i want to do, is take out the center emblem and put the fan in there. but now im thinkin that if i did that, then all this dust and crap might get into the amp and ruin it. but now im thinking about taking the center hole where i could put an optional 3rd 6x8 speaker in my rear deck and cutting a custom hole and putting the fan right there. but still id need extra wire because the wires are very small... so would i be safe to get some wire thats the exact same voltage rating and awg and then splice and solder? would that work, or would i need to do something else??? plz help cause i am VERY confused... thx everyone for lookin!

I doubt that puting the fan in the rear deck would make any diffrence in temp. yes it will cool a lil bit but it would be more work to install than its worth IMHO. If the fan came from the PSU in the comp. Its going to be 12v. You can just wire it to the remote and ground. I cant see a 80mm pc fan going into that amp. If you really need cooling. Build a plexi glass box to put the amp in, drill holes in the bottem, and place the fan on top of the plexi box.

Any wire will work for the fan. It it very low curent and only 12V. As far as putting the fan on the center of the amp itself, it won't help much. You need air moving over the heatsink. Blowing air into the amp, especially if it has no way to escape, won't do any good.

For routing of the bass remote wire, run it under the side of the backrest portion of the rear seat and down the side under the seat itself.

what are you talkin about for the bass remote wire? run it under the rear seat... then what? under the carpet to the front, and if so, how the hell will i pull it along under the carpet to the very front? and about the wire for my fan or 2 fans... would speaker wire work? like 18 gauge or 20 or something?

That's exactly what you do. Run it under the carpet. To get it under the carpet, you take up the trim down the door and pull the carpet bck enough to run the wire under it next to the door sill. It's not that hard and doesn't take that long.

like the other dude said i would think that installing the fans would be a waste of time.

if you do procede though have you ever thought about installing the fan so that it would be ******* air out of the trunk (if i read correctly).

well my current plan is instead of puttin the 1 in the amp, in my rear deck, where there is a location for a 3rd speaker, just use that hole and cut the rear deck carpet and put 1 fan blowing in which is the computer fan i have now, and get a red led fan blowing air out of trunk, so circulation occurs. i want to put the normal black fan south (lol) of the led fan, so like this:

the ( o ) = my 5x7 polks, and the top fan ( ` ) is my led, and the bottom one is the black one. the reason i say led on top, is b/c my rear deck is angled toward the front of the car as opposed to most cars and being flat. i love it. but id just wire the 2 fans together and hook them with my amp turn-on. but an un-answered question. what type of wire (be as specific as possible, as maybe brand, and a link and exact type or whatever. thanks everyone for the help so far! o, and 1 more thing about the bass remote. just run it down the middle of the car? i have my HU and power and turnon wires all on the driver side, and my rca cord on the passenger... so downt with the rca or the middle. thx again!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
