I try to avoid the tools who go to UFC fights, wear popped collars with stunner shades, and use "bro" alot. Basically, Im referring to the frat guys.
Not mine. Some do - they usually have a lot of hazing involved in the house, and follow the styles set down by previous fraternities and histories. Not all of them are like that.
yea, a good choice for you ****ing losers who got made fun of in high school, went away to college and were like clean slate, nobody knows im a *** in real life so ill just try and act cool here and maybe ill make friends, but now your only friends are **** ups just like you from another high school pulling the same bullshit. amirite?
You have no idea. No idea at all. Pretty much the opposite of what you said. But honestly, when I'm making four or five times as much as you, with friends and brothers to rely on for the rest of my life, enjoying life, I don't really give a **** what you think.
See below, please.
unless you're in a fraternity yourself, you'll never understand. mine was founded against hazing, and we stay true to that today. yeah the parties are cool, but when i had legal troubles, being able to call a recent alumni who went to law school helped me out quite a bit. or when im looking at a certain class, theres a 99.9% chance someone in the fraternity has already taken it and can tell you what its all about, can help you with the work, or recommend a professor.its not animal house. we do community service and philanthropy events to raise money for certain causes each year. oh and you must have a minimum gpa of 2.5 each semester, so they're serious about academics coming first.
It's very true. Mine is the same. I like the guys here - I enjoy spending my time with them. We're a small fraternity, about 40 people total. Alumni make donations, and help you out with jobs. The bond with the other brothers you make is lifelong. The fun you'll have, while being able to manage school, is amazing.
To those questioning it all, I still have quite a few friends outside of my fraternity. I'm in the motorsports club, with several dozen others. I've met guys that come to our parties, that I have in my classes, and I still stay in touch with them. I have friends from when I was in high school that I still hang out with. Fraternity doesn't mean the only people you know are the guys there.
However, I'm not supporting all the houses. Some aren't very good, or are harsh to pledges.
And money? I pay $3300 a semester. About the same as a dorm room with a meal plan. I don't have extra money besides weekend food money, once in a while to be spent on whatever drinks I want. I don't 'buy' anyone. These guys are my brothers, that I stand by. Not people I've bought into my life. I haven't bought anyone into my life.
