Rockford vs. Diamond

I'm about to buy 2 12' Diamond D9's and I am planing on giving them 2000w total power. Would there be a diff. bt. getting 2 1000w amps or 1 2000w. The 2000w I had in mind is the Rockfordt2 and for the 2 1000w amps Diamond d61000. Which way should I go, there isnt a big price diff b.t the two? Or are there some other amps I should look into? (if so just list them)

The diamonds are better looking and probably better built... plus you get all diamond gear which looks good in an install... if there was a huge price diff I'd get the rockfords though or some no frills bass amp
