What i wand to know is if this is a goooooooood sub. Or is it just overrated bc rockford has made some good subs before. Also, what would i need to power it with and, how big and what kind of box would i need for one. I have about room for 6 cubes if i need it. I want it to be daily driver spl box with decent sq, but, if this isnt the sub im looking for, then what should i get that is around 250$.

1000 watts is sufficient ... though they will handle more. A 1000 x 1 @ 1ohm amp would work well ... Crossfire 1000D, Hifonics BX1000D, Tsunami 1100D (http://www.edesignaudio.com) .

I'd talk with the guy who has the HX2's ... forgetting his name ... I think Ramos possibly ...

3.5 cubes - 5 cubes might work well.

that sub gets loud, very loud. SQ should be good enough for rap music. Mite have some trouble on the faster beats though.

No u can stilll port it for SQ. U just need to tune low. like 28-32hz .

I think they are pretty bad sounding SQ wise. If you port drop to around 28-32 and it should do you ok.

Personaly I think unless your getting a good deal you can find better subs for the price.

Don't get me wrong in a good ported box they have the abiliity to get pretty **** loud...maybe I'm just an RF hater

i agree. im not too much of a RF hater i wont deny they get **** loud. I would much rather have an SE over it
