Rockford p2 wiring help!

Ok I had a P210S4 running off a bridged 450watt DUAL amp bridged at 300RMS 4ohms. The sub did everything I wanted it to and I was happy with it.

I had it for 4 years and it gave out on me. I purchased a P2D410 today and hooked it up but im a bit confused as to the wiring. The P2D410 is of course a 4-Ohm DVC Subwoofer bur when I was looking at the wiring diagram it shows

No 4-Ohm from the amp. I hooked it up anyways and it does not sound the same as my old one did. It does not produce a nice full bass tone and it sounds higher pitched and kind of ringy. It doesn't fit in the box as snug as the old one did and I can feel air escaping but I don't think it's my big issue. The crossover is set at AP but my old one which sounded great was set to the same thing I didn't change the gain or crossover.

Do I need to get the 2-Ohm version of the p2 according to this diagram?

Please help! I don't know much at all about audio/electrical so please don't be too rough =P

Yes you either need a dual 2 ohm woofer in series or a dual 8 ohm in parallel to make 4 ohms. Or you can buy a 2 ohm stable amp as Elton said above.

Also the box you used for the previous woofer is too small for the newer woofer. The older woofer needed 1.25 sq ported and the new woofer needs 1.40 sq ported.

Thanks for the info! I ended up exchanging it for a Alpine Type E for 60 bux less and it's already so much better than my first p2. It hits harder and is clearer and louder overall!

I'm going to end up upgrading my system though gonna have 2 type E's, new sub amp, and new receiver in the near future.
