rockford fosgate rfr3112

12"

1000W rms

2000W peak

I want to know if anyone has these subs or has heard them. My friends are telling me bad idea because i won't be able to hear my music, just the bass. I want to put two in the back of a 1994 Accord EX. Thanks for the replies.

If you run these subs at full power and just use a CD deck to power your inside speakers, then yeah, the mids and highs will be drown out. If you want to use these subs you will need a 4 channel amp that can put out enough power to help balance the sound. Depending on the sub amp that you are looking at I'd recommend a 4 channel amp can produce anywhere from 75 - 125 watts per channel. 2000 watts RMS is a LOT of bass power. What amp are you looking at buying? Is this a competition car or an everday driving car?

I have to agree that is a lot of bass. If you like the Rockford subs. I would suggest the regular punch HX2's instead of the power series. I believe the model numbers start with rfd. They handle 500w rms 1000w peak. I have given them as much as 700 a piece without problems. If you do decide to go with the power series you will need some pretty hefty power to run mids and highs.

On top of what Ramos said, if you really like the power series, just get one 12", with 2-12's, depending on the size of your altenator, most likely, you might be looking at some problems. One Power 12", is capable of putting out some series bass, but 2-12's is just plain torture, if your not going to compete. But your friends are right 2 Power 12's would definitely drown out the hi's/mid's.

yea i love hx2 series subs....but holly s*** 2 hx2 power man you talking about alot of bass and power 2 run them babys i think 2 hx2 punch 12" will do the job. Like Phatillusion if you not going to compete.

I want to say one thing, build the right boz for 1 or if u decide, 2. I have one rfr 3112, giving them 1000watts, and i tell ya it really hit, it hit hard, and i have my highs powered by a amp, 200watts per, and yea, that one drowned out the everything at certain notes.

BUT, the box will make or break it, I made a sealed box to spec, 1 cubic feet. And i would turn it up loud, and it would fart(distort). It was having over excurion. At not so high volume, to much that it made my spider come off, now i have to glue the spider back cuz i bought from a web site and dont want to waste time sending it back.

But i would reccomend a ported box, NOT A SEALED. And give the power they need, these are hungry boys, very hungry boys.

I am getting another one, so i will have two of them, and for the mean time, giving em 500watts each, then i will buy another fr bd1000.1 amo, and will be giving them each 1000watts.

G'luck

just wondering on the last post. you are running 2 power HX2 12"s or you are going to or whatever you said. but those are dual 2 ohm aren't they?? if you do that won't it just overheat that 1000db amp that you are running b/c they are only 1 ohm stable right? just thought i would ask for my own peace of mind. but hell yeah those things will bump hard.

Yea i was told it would be alright if i wired it for 1 ohm, since the amp was made to power those subs. I will be buying another one when i get more money, but for now i will make a bigger box for the 1 i have. The amp hasn't been giving me any problems.

ohh yea, these babies want power, they need power, i had it hooked up to my infinty amp, which gave off 400watts, and it barely moved it. Now the rf bd1000.1, now that gets this baby moving, and i bet i can give it more, but i will stick with the specs.

Maybe that is the problem around here with them. Everybody has 4 and 500 watt amps hooked up to them.

If you going to do it go with the power series run a 1000 a piece to them i had one power hx2 15 in a 3.5 ^3 foot box slot ported built for sq but it still pounded i have a x-tant 4180c amplifier on my hi's i had a bd1000 on the sub they ' ll pound your ears off if you want that but you need a really strong amp for your subs and your hi's and you need to buy some hi's such as focal or mb quart or even diamond if you looking to spend the doe then go with it if not get some hx2 12's which is what im running now is 2 but im going to get a third but it all up to you send the doe for the show i would
