Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 !!

What's up Ramos.....

Man, I'm glad you posted. Now, you're saying the subs can take much more power than the rated rms and some of the other guys say they can't......."somebody's doing something wrong"......don't you think.......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

I also put considerbly more power to the hx-2's and never blew'em, but "bumbin blazer" and his buddies couldn't seem to do that without damaging them. Maybe you could show'm why that was.......cause I can't seem to convince him that something was indeed wrong.........being the enclosures, the power, or any combination of things. I would love to know!.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I would have to say the problem in those instances would have to be the enclosure. But Blazer didn't say how long they were playing it with that kind of power. And what volume. A sub can handle a lot more power in a short burst than it can constantly. You also have to take into account the tuning of the enclosure. Power handling changes with differet tunings. There is a tremendous amount of thought and design that goes into building a quality spl enclosure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

can a sub handle more power when it's tuned lower or higher? just wonderin...thanks
usually it's higher. But it depends on the enclosure and the sub. Look at winisd pick any sub in a ported enclosure and play with the size and tuning . Then look at the power handling graph. You will be able to see my point easier. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

we had ours tuned to around 30hz for the power HX2 running off the c2k 9.0 that puts out 2200watts rms underrated to a single power HX2 15" for 15-20 min of time. we wanted to rip it apart for the pure reason of we were bored waiting on the next customer with their next appointment. i'm just saying that i have ripped them apart and don't think they are that good anymore old RF was hard to top though.

Ya, I know what you mean......I've had bad experiences with some name brands also and have been reluctant to buy those brands as of yet. I don't blame you one bit for not wanting RF anymore, I'd probably feel the same.

My experience has been just the opposite, I bought just about every brand there was to buy and in the end only the upper line of fosgates stood the test of time. Not only did it take the power and more, but also sounded good doing it. I guess it's all about the experiences a person has had and what finally worked and sounded good for them.

No blood lost......."keep rockin" with what works for you..... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
