Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 !!

Yup....

sounds like you and your friends don't know what you were doing and fried those things.......OR you guys knew what you were doing and fried them for fun.......which one was it.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

my friends no exactly what they are doing considering it is at a shop that is the best in town by far. everyone there agree's that HX2's are decent woofers now b/c RF isn't that good of a company anymore. and we only gave it 750rms to a 15 which should take that but it ripped apart. i used to be a RF guy like you but now, after my blaupunkt 500.2 amp sounds better on my comps. then my RF 600.4 did and doesn't overheat i wouldn't touch RF anymore.

First of all that zapco amp is a 2k watt amp on a 500+ subwoofer

second, all of your enclosure figures for those woofers are wrong

third, those woofers need at least a week to break in which I assume your crew didn't do.

fourth, blaupunkt has very clean sound quality and can't be compared to spl material.

fifth, music equipment is just that equipment and are supposed to be used as such.....

if your tools are about to break..."back off" or suffer the consequences. We could take any brand of car audio and bring it to failure, but being an electronics tech, I've had to learn how to stop pushing the envelope with everything I've ever come in contact with including car audio amps, woofers, etc. If you like great sound, then blaupunkt is a very good clean audio selection, but if you want power....real power, that's not gonna be enough and even then you have to use it all correctly. I've found that even pyramid......"that's right PYRAMID" can soud descent if you install and use it correctly.

Lastly, all companies go through periods of ups and downs, especially when stocks are being sold out for shares. For one I've been down the blaupunkt road before and I like'm, but don't care for them anymore.......nothing wrong with them......just out grew'm.

Oh, and you didn't answer my question.......ever seen or heard the rockford TRF'S competition woofer?........

...when it comes to your opinion on Rockford products...

we had 2 HX2 15"s and 2 HX2 12"s. both had been used in the sound board for about 2 weeks and never pushed hard at all. 2.5cuft for a 12" is a perfect size i know for a fact you said that was perfect before. anyway we took 1 15" and 1 12" hooked them up to a zapco ref. 750 that puts out 750rms and ran it that way. it really shouldn't have blown the 15" the way it did but it did so go figure. my blaupunkt amp is rated at max of 500.2 and it puts out more power than my RF did as far as i can tell anyway my comps. sound better and louder.

Alright, let's get it straight.....

In your previous reply you said 15"Hx-2 in a 3.0 cubic box which is wrong, it should be in a 2.5 cf box, sealed or ported. Then there are two hx-2 models which are the rfd2115 (dual 2ohm) 500 watts rms and the rfd2215 (dual 4ohm) 600 watts rms. So either way, the installation was wrong, you exceded the rms rating by 250 watts rms on one and 150 rms on the other.

The hx-2 12" should be in a 1.25 sealed and 2.0 ported, so that was wrong as well. And for the last one, the Power hx-2 is rated at 1000 watts rms and that limit was exceeded by 1000 watts rms by the zapco c2k9.0, a 2000 watt rms amp .....good thing it wasn't your equipment huh.........

that is b/c i won't touch anything RF anymore. i have had nothing but bad experience with them. i ripped 2 dozen He'2 apart in a matter of 8 months. i used to run 4 HE 12"s off an RF 1000.1bd so they saw around 250rms a piece and they ripped apart every 2-3 weeks a piece. they are capable SPL woofers just much better stuff out there.

I ran a pair of hx2 12's in a 6cuft ported box tuned at 51hz for comp purposes for a year. Pushed the pair with a modified bd1500.1. Little over 1kw per sub. Blew 1 sub the whole year.

Next year I moved up to a pair of power hx2 15's. Put them in a common chamber 8cuft slot ported box. Tuned to 47hz. Powered each sub with a pair of modified bd1500.1's. Roughly 4kw a sub. Guess what, never blew a sub that year. Your going by manufacturers suggested enclosure size. They are not set in stone as the holy grail of enclosures for those subs. Get winisd or some other box building program and plug the numbers in and play. You can get alot better results from boxes larger than those specified by rockford.

P.S. it was all my equipment, and all my install. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
