Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of RF's new line of Prime amps? They seem cheap for the power they put out compared to their other lines.

I dont think I would bother with them, Hifonics and Powerbass look better to me then them.

Wow, really. I figured it would do rated power considering its Rockford Fosgate.

Dammit... I can't remember where I saw the review so pardon my recollection from a foggy memory..... Anyhow, IIRC, they barely do rated @ 14.4 volts.

ETA: Scratch my memory.... It was the birthsheet that I saw on a Prime 500-1. It birthed 545 watts @ 2 ohms!

From what I have been told by a rep, they are pretty much right on par with the Punch amps in terms of power, just use Aluminum in stead of steel.

Just to clarify all Rockford amps use aluminum not steel. One of the differences between a Prime amp a Punch amp and a Power amp is how much aluminum is used. Additionally the Prime amp uses an extruded heat sink where the Punch and Power amps use a Cast heat sink. As far as power output goes Prime amps typically make 5-10% more than rated power, however Punch and Power amps make 25-30% more than rated power. The Prime amplifer was designed for the novice customer on a budget, these amplifers meet or exceeds the performance of other like products. The Punch amps are for the enthusiest who expects more out of his system. The Power amps are the the fanatic who wants to push his system to the limit every time he gets in his car.
