I just picked up a Rockford Fosgate power hx2 12 for $30. It works but the spider sags like it's not even there. I'm going to recone and upgrade so I need to know what's the best volume and tune for this sub running at about 2,000 watt rms in a 98 honda civic. Manual says 2.5cu.ft at 40 hz so just seeing if anyone has a experience with these and a better setup. Does it do better on 4th order, 6th order or just regular old ported. Thanks for the help
I'm sending it into fix my speaker to get them to build it. I'm wanting a daily so not going to crazy so need a volume and I'll just experiment with aero port to find the tune I want
David (fixmyspeaker) should be able to give you a recommendation; otherwise I would shoot for around 2 cubes. I ran mine at 1.8 cubes tuned to 33 off 1000W and that satisfied my needs.
