rockford 1000 watt amp powering 6000 watt sub

i have a pionner 5102 2500 watt rms sub and and 6000 watt max

is that amp a good match i used to have a soundstorm cruiser 4000 watt amp but it did not sound like even 500 watts

will this amp hit or is there a better high quality brand name amp i should get for 400 bucks including shipping

hahaha dude... i've had 2 of these subs at the same time... they are f'ing nuts. but anyways. i had a rockford T20001BD amp and it wasnt enough for the one 12" sub that you have..... and your link to the rf sub doesnt work so idk what you are asking about. but they take some serious shit.

Only you know if it's enough. I've yet to "need" to run anything approaching RMS power to a sub for it to be enough for me, but there are others on here who insist that more than RMS is a must.

ya i love my pioneer sub

ya i messed up the link but it was the rf t10001bd amp running 1000 rms at 1 ohm which is what i ordered last night will this system hit like where you get that feeling in your chest cause if not i will have to get another rf t10001bd

ya i know it will underpower i just want it to hit iwas buying crap amps before and it kind of hit i had a pioneer amp and a soundstorm amp neither of those companies can make amps cause i had a 125 2 channel amp kicker and it hit harder than the pioneer 800 watt amp or even the 4000 watt soundstorm amp lol

dont buy soundstorm haha

There's no such thing as underpowering a sub once you get above the 400 watt range or thereabouts. The sub may be able to get louder with more power, but that's going to almost always be the case up until the point where you melt the coil from excessive power. I really wish that people would get the idea out of their head that you have to run as much power as the sub can handle for it to be worth having.
