power wire and rcas are ran on diif sides of the car. and i still have road noise!!! i have a pioneer 6800mp. anyone have any suggestions? i put a ground loop isolater on but it didnt help.i have the hu grounded directly to the car and throgh the stock harness. can any one help

That makes no sense.... road noise solved from RCA's and wires being separated?

I think you're talking about system noise. The two are completely different. Road noise is from the car and neat wiring has nothing to do with that. For road noise, you need closed-cell foam and some deadener.

What you are referring to, spike, is most commonly referred to as 'alternator whine' and it most often caused by a poor ground connection.

Whether that poor ground happens to be on the headunit, on the amp, any other components that happen to be in the signal path (EQ, active crossover, etc) or poorly shielded RCA cables will be up to you to troubleshoot and figure out.

It could also be ground loop. Usually happens with multiple amps or 4 channel amps, when you have the amps and deck grounded in different locations.

Try putting a "ground loop isolator" on one set of RCA's on the 4channel. If it doesnt work, try the other set of rca's.

This solved my alternator whine problem. Mine (ground loop isolator) is made by a company called "PAC" and it was like $5. Get it at any car audio store.

yea i put a ground loop isolator on the rcas to my highs but it didnt work. and i cant realy touble shoot right now cause i live in al and its like 105 degrees. so i might try to dig into it tonight.

That's a band-aid and not a cure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
