Rl-p's ported?

I see that these are optimized for either ported or sealed enclosures, but I've been reading lately that many people used sealed. I want to know why.

Been thinking about 2x 15" ported with 1600w. They don't require much airspace (which is good ^^) and I'll be they get much louder and sound better than my 2x 12" Type-Rs.

they favor ported, but in countless installs have reported excllent SQ in sealed...

 

as for ported 15's between 3.0 and 3.5 cubes and I would go between 27 - 34 hz
