RL-p vs. 3000spl

the RL-p can be had in D4 or D2 so I dont understand the different level in wattage,

it was intended to be an SQ sub, it just happens to get loud in the right install
No I am saying I will give each as much as needed. I believe the rl-p is good at 700 though and the 3000spl at 1000 or so. With that in mind I would assume the 3000 would get louder, no?

there is no way anyone can tell, until to install and test, if your not worried about competing go with the RL-p

SPL is about displacing air.
If the RL-P moves farther at the best frequency for your box/car, it'll be louder... same goes for the 3000spl... (its a lil more complicated with ports but...)

get T/S params and winISD and have a good one.

edit: and umm... remember, large ports are your friend.

Alright I'm a newb when in comes to audio. I mean I know more than the average dummy on the street, but know nothing close to advanced as seems to be needed to figure this out. No way to simplify it for me (dummy it up)?

Ok so which one will get louder? Both ported in around 1.75-2.0 cu ft. I am looking for output, not SQ. I will give either their max power. So 1000rms or so for the 3000spl and 700rms or so for the rl-p. Thanks for any help.
unless your gonna compete your gonna care about SQ. seriously you might not know but give it a year. its fun to listen to good clean bass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you are suggesting winisd? according them an 80cuft box will break 180db lol. that's an exageration but don't recommend winisd at least i wouldn't.

i personally would get the rl-p but without knowledge, spl is hard to achieve, that or without $ for a good installer.

It doesn't make sense for him to buy bassbox, and i CERTAINLY wouldn't come out in favor of stealing it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

and i hear those 80 cubic foot boxes are pretty loud these days haha

MODSSSSSSSSSSSS can we start a VS section please!

No.

Too many subsections already.....

As to the original question.....the Rl-p will handle 1kw aswell, so I'm not sure why you planned on giving it less power. Granted the extra 300w is going to make little audible difference....

I don't know much about the3000SPL, but a 12" Rl-p in a properly designed ported enclosure will have more than adequate output for most street beaters. And as was mentioned.....you may not realize it, but you will care about sound quality to some extent. Bass with poor sound quality will be horrible and annoying to listen to, no matter how loud it is.

Also, box programs aren't really good for comparing output levels between subwoofers. Response and output in a vehicle is going to completely different than that predicted by WinISD.

listen to squeak, he knows 1 or 2 things about audio;)

And that's about it, 1 or 2 things lmao //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
