RL-P is in!

hows the output? Looks very good, and good luck carpeting
This thing is LOUD. It shocked the hell outta me and all of my friends. I was expecting a small step up in output from my diamonds considering the cone area was a little less and I was going to send it 500w less, but there is no question that this is way louder. I drove up to wienerschnitzel today with my music up very loud playing 50 cent candy shop. I parked about 40 ft away and when i went inside one of my firiends just had this look of awe on his face. It soon passed and he told me that the whole restaurant was shaking from my bass. lol. Don't bother lecturing me on how terrible this is because I really never do this kind of thing. I know that noone wants to hear me, but what the hell its new and I want to show it off.

This is just an awesome sub that can get loud and sound good doing it. If you are looking into getting any subs I would definitely recommend soundsplinter. I can attest to the quality of the rl-p and have heard nothing but good things about the rl-i and the customer service really is second to none.

I would but I lost the dam connector for my computer. Im either gonna have to buy a new one or find my old one.

ehh im so 50-50 on Avalanche vs RL-p... I think this may have pushed me 49-51 :-/
I want to give someones RL-p a sound so I can comp both of them.
I got to say, I am still amazed by the amount of sound coming from a single sub.

I'm currently trying to convince my friend to get an avalanche 12 when they come out so I can compare the 2. If he does get one, I will be sure and post the results of the comparison.

UPDATE:

I just bought 2 yards of carpet through bavarian3 and I am hoping to carpet the box this weekend. I will be sure and get pics for you guys too. I also am about to purchase 1 or 2 gallons of secondskin spectrum through this group buy http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=91756 (huge discounts on an awesome product).

I started listening to some rock on this sub now that I am near deaf from the rap and this sub really does have some very nice sq. I was expecting it to not have much of a presence above 50hz due to it being a 15 and my box being tuned so low, but with my lpf set at 80 hz or so there is no difference between the ability of the rl-p to play the upper frequencies and my previous set up of 2 sealed diamond 10's. The bass is not at all muddy as I assumed it would be somewhat. Crisp and tight is the best way to describe it for rock and loud and full would be a good way to describe how it plays rap. I am still loving this thing more and more each day!

I finally got around to carpeting it yesterday. Its not perfect but I think its pretty good for my first try. The biggest problem was a miscalculation and not starting on the bottom. For some reason I started on the back and then I ran out of room, so I had to use a an extra scrap piece to fill in the hole on the back. I ended up with 2 seams on the bock but its alright and you never really even see it.

The carpet looks much nicer than a ***** box. And if your sub is going to be upfiring, the scrap on the back won’t matter.

I would have painted the mounting cutouts black, though, like you did with the port.

yeah, I think I am going to do that when I get a chance.

I got metered today and hit a 145.1 on an audiocontrol mike @ 45hz or so. I somehow managed to get 2nd in my class of about 5 which included an re sexxx, which I beat by .1, an re XXX which I beat by about 1 db and a 13w7 that got me by .7 db. Im definitly happy with results. I wasnt expecting anywhere near that with my low tuning.
