RL-i 10"

So I am thinking about getting this subwoofer for my SQ setup but I am worried that it wont get low like I want. Is the whole thing about 10's hitting higher and 15's lower a myth or true. Is a 10" going to get weak in the low hz or is it totally driver specific?

I would think with a 15" vs 10" of the same brand, the 15" would hit lower. Or at least seem that way because the cone on the 15" can move more air at lower frequencies.

On the other hand the 10" might give better sound quality overall. Thats only what I've heard.

Go with the RL-I 10s and don't look back man... HotCarl has a video of a single 8 wanging like hell at ROE... 10s with proper power and box should be more than enough low end for ya average car audio goer.

"proper box" I hate the way ported boxes have that lag with fast beats and I am tight on space so it will be in sealed. I have heard that sealed boxes can tend to get lower than ported boxes thought true or false?

Depends on what the box is tuned to ported but I'm running my RL-Ps sealed and love it...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

i have an rl-i 8", two rl-p 12"s, and two IDv3 12"s in ported boxes, and they all have excellent transient response //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Do you think a RL-i 10" would be able to keep up with the SLC's sq wise in a sealed box? ported box? If thats not clear I mean I want the bass to be proportional to my mids and highs.

not sure of your budget but i have a Tc 2000 10" for sale thats brand new. it would basically be a 10" Rl-p if one was made and is actually an impoved version of the tc9 motor. its an absolute monster and should have plenty of output sealed off around 700w.

Check out the IDmax the 10" does 20-250hz and the 12" does 10-150hz? Can someone explain if this is because of design or because of cone area?
