this is depending on wat material you are using...if your using fleece you have to use alot because it absorbs so muchjust a tip. you need to stretch the fleece tighter or you will get sagging like the center area of your console and you will have to use tons of filler to get it smooth again. you are also using too much resin, less resin more fiberglass or it will be brittle and hard to sand. and lastly, your best bet is to use a router and take a small 1\4" notch out of the edge where your glass connects to the console. then use a staple gun to staple the fleece down after you stretch it as hard as possible.
obviously you went past that part already and you are kind of stuck with extra work cutting off all that fleece and tons of extra sanding, but next time maybe it will help. not trying to be a jerk or anything - because this is a tough project, so good luck!
if your fiberglass looks dark brown - then you have too much resin. your goal is to make it as white as possible, the less resin you use, the better off you are.
Actually there was no sagging, it was puleld as tight as possiable on the sides, then pulled on the bottom until I got the shape I wanted, which was that.just a tip. you need to stretch the fleece tighter or you will get sagging like the center area of your console and you will have to use tons of filler to get it smooth again. you are also using too much resin, less resin more fiberglass or it will be brittle and hard to sand. and lastly, your best bet is to use a router and take a small 1\4" notch out of the edge where your glass connects to the console. then use a staple gun to staple the fleece down after you stretch it as hard as possible.
