Ripped spider

I have a 10" L7. The coil, cone and suspension are okay, but the spider has about a 1" tear from being pushed to excusion before being broken in. I heard that you could sew the spider with fishing line through the metal mesh. Any ideas? Thanks

idk man ur kinda ****ed in that position, you need to break in the sub so the spider loosens up and doesnt do this..

Is a ripped spider a major deal for a sub and it will need major work or will a recone be the extent of it?

It doesnt have to be reconed. A split spider can cause a coil to seat uneven. I just need an idea of how to seal it

And *IF* (as you say) the coil, is okay then what you need to do is :

a) get a subsonic filter (if you have one use it!)

b) get a lower tuned box (you cant take a 50hz pre fab box and play 30hz test tones (or music for that matter

c) turn the volume DOWN

wrong, you'll need a recone. sealing it and keeping it sealed would be near impossible.

and yes, polecat is a rep from Kicker and knows his stuff.
