Dustin, explain to me how this video seemed to surface immediately after the prisoner abuse scandal. Pretty convenient timing. Explain to me how the family members of the prisoners (the majority of who were held on unstable grounds) should feel after witnessing their kin get abused and tortured by the very people alleging to liberate them. Explain to me how this has any relevance to anything aside from turning the discussion from atrocities committed by us to atrocities committed by others. Explain to me why Bush is dedicated to ending terrorism, when he keeps our trooops over there and is simply providing more motivation for terroristic acts. Explain to me why the press secretary said ''It shows the true nature of the enemies of freedom. They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children.'' Irony at it's best.

I hope the man who did this was the father of a newborn who was blown into smithereens by a rocket launched from our soliders hands because we felt there was a 3% chance that Saddam was in the building. War is ugly; you reap what you sow.

Why does everyone have to care about what everyone else cares about ?
Gauntlet doesn't care ... Does that mean I've lost respect for him ? No ...

Am I thinking, "What the **** is wrong with him ?" ... Yes ...

Anyways, this could have been avoided. Making a decision to be in a war torn country CAN GET YOU KILLED, especially when you're a citizen of the country currently occupying the other side. He made that decision and it was unfortunate (and pretty dispicable) what happened.
I could see why you would say the above...

However, when you don't care about the loss of a life, that in itself is dispicable. To make matters worse, the loss of a fellow American...there aren't words to describe it.

If you or anyone else can't understand this, I really don't give a shit.

Steve...good analogy, but lemme give you one. When you run into a building full of civillians with a plane or when you kill an innoscent man, thats a kick in the nuts.

Gauntlet your reference to the quote "They have no regard for the lives of innocent men, women and children"...does that make you an enemy?

Well they did it in the name of their god. Boy they have a nice god. I'll put a link so you can see the pics or download the video. Another problem with the war is it is like a reality show. War is not something that should be on tv. There is brutality in all wars. And because the media and americans don't understand this we will be sissy's and pull out, which will only encourage the enemy. Like I have said in other threads recently I don't think the US will ever win another war. We will give in to terrorists and let them do whatever they please in the middle east. The terrorist will then train and plan their next attack, kill some more americans and then we will once again argue what we have done wrong. We may then come together for maybe a month as a single resolved nation and will handle it in a non effective way by dropping maybe a bomb or two and accomplish nothing. Or we may just say our intelligence blew it and in the future we need to catch them and take no action. People blame the abuse of the prisoners as the cause, when in fact they have been torturing americans rebuilding Iraq in the looney triangle prior to this. It also turns out that this particular cell that had abuse housed the most dangerous of the prisoners and it may have been done to get info from the enemy. Because we aren't fighting this war in a proper way maybe it would be best to pull out become a passive nation attempt to catch all activity aimed at the US and if we don't, we'll just have to live with the losses.

1. The video was retalliation for the prisioner abuse scandal.

2. The abuse and torture was unjustified. The people who did it will be punished. However, abuse and murder are two different things.

3. Pulling out of Iraq now would just make America look like what most liberals such as yourself are...*******.

I know what you mean, Dustin. I figured you'd understand the baseball one.

But then there's the other side that says why did we fly bombs into buildings when we knew there were innocent civillians in them, just because we 'thought' there might be a small chance of an enemy being in there?

War is a crappy thing. Period. It's hard to understand, and doesn't make sense.

Because all our troops over there clearly have regard for the lives of innocent people, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Now define "care." Yes, I feel bad for his family, but in all seriousness, there is no reason this incident should garner any national attention, much less be spread around all forms of media like wildfire. I do not mean that I don't care that children lost their father and parents lost their son, because that is obviously sad, but this is war. If you go over there, you have to be prepared to die. It's simply one of the consequences. I don't care about it in the vein that it has no relevance to anything. Had the prisoner abuse not been brought to light, I highly doubt this would be getting this much attention, if any at all. It's a diversionary tactic, and it's working perfectly on mindless sheep like you. You wanted to have an intelligent discussion, let's have one. Address some of the issues I have raised and defend your point of view.

all it is, is a **** sign that we need to get the fu(k out of there. dammit this shit isnt gonna stop so why push it any further?
so you're saying all american/coalition forces and all other americans should leave the middle east?

do you realize what kind of backlash that would cause? we'd have the middle easterners that hate us now, plus we'd make all the ones that appreciate us over there begin to hate us because we destroyed and didnt clean up/rebuild.

I thought it was a bad call bombing the building after building because we "thought" Saddam was there. Bad call on Bush's part, and to be honest with you, if there was another halfway viable candidate for president, I wouldn't vote Bush.

Bush tends to think with his heart and not with is head...sometimes that can be a good thing but many times it can be bad.

Bush won't do shit! He's a pu$$y! He'll do something stupid and ask his dad for advice and f*ck up again, which in return, will result in more deaths/casualties!

Must agree and that's why I'm voting third party. If Bush loses and Kerry gets all passive and attacks occur on the US in a few years at least I can say I voted on principal. Personal opinion but I see the country crumbling and all I plan on doing is voting principal. If this causes a party to get in power that continues to destroy america at least I can say I went down fighting. What's the point in putting a party in power that is leading the country down the same destructive path but at a slower rate? I'd rather just get it over with.

Diversionary Tactic? Hardly.

I was pissed when I heard about the abuse of the prisioners and I felt the same way when I heard of the murder of this man. Of course our troops aren't aways the most humble people, but they were trained not to be...otherwise, we'd get our *** kicked all over Iraq.

What happened to your "not when it comes to children," approach?

I have the same negative feelings towards the US and its leaders (if you are bold enough to call them that). But, saying you dont care..Your a POS.

If we knew how to fight a war I assure you this stuff would stop. But we don't know how to fight a war and that's why I say we pull out and become the true passive nation that we are.
