it's amazing that they always just give the "max" power and not the rms. max could be like 1 nanosecond of that power and they won't blow for all we know. actually, my pyramid 8" setup (which actually hit pretty good....) was rated at 200 rms and 500 max. i fed it 300 watts for ~6 months until 2wks ago when i took out the amp and killed the box. sub is still perfect...
