ridiculous cop

I was just curious if there was any way even though it may end up being useless to make a complaint about this cop or take some sort of action. Maybe its just me but his comments seem to be quite irrelevant to me being pulled over such as "my department hates all you wyotechers."

I am currently going to an automotive school (wyotech) were the cops tend to give us quite a bit of trouble (most is deserving though) because of people constantly speeding and raising hell, but typically this is in the town the school is in. I live about 30-45min away.

On the way home from school I got pulled over about 3-5 miles from my house. The cop comes up to my truck and first thing after askin for the ususal he tells me "think your trucks a bit too big? in a smartass tone. I simply repied "no" I get the light in the eyes and he tells me "what are you under the influence of" I said "nothing, im sick and in a hurry to get home I just left school, if you look I still have my school shirt & id on." So he tells me "oh that explains it all, youre one of those wyotechers." I simply replied saying "I dont think your comments are very necessary even though a lot of people do raise hell" He cut me off a few times and I kept on talkin.

So it turns out that my license is expired bc this crappy state gave me all sorts of trouble getting a new one when I moved here and I didnt have my registration bc I didnt know I had to carry it, back home we only need license/proof of insurance.

Few min later another car rolls up and theyve got me blocked in a parking spot at mcdonalds. About 15 min later he comes back to the truck and asks me to get out, then asks me if I have any weapons and says to go over to his car. He has me standing out in the freezing weather signing tickets on his hood. Then for about another 10-15 minutes hes crying and going on and on saying "my department hates you wyotechers, we dont like any of you wyotechers, this is MY highway, this is MY home I live here, im gonna be watchin for you on MY highway, you have a shitty attitude, im always on this highway ill be lookin for you, I dont know how they do things where youre from, next time I see you you better have your license taken care of" and all sorts of unecessary stuff. He then explains all the ticket bs and tells me if I take it to court for the ones for the license and not having my registration I can get off with those. THEN he starts up cryin about my truck. Tellin me "its too big, why do you need something like that, its not made to be driving fast, its not safe to be driving in rainy weather, the handling on that thing cant be safe, those big biscuits you got on that thing cant be safe the list goes on and heres where I did kinda mess up/get smart. He then tells me "id rather be driving a mustang gt or something lower because the safer handling" and I told him "well...actually my mom has one and this thing does handle better, a mustang just slides everywhere" and he finally shut up so I also told him "I still dont think your comments are very necessary that you make about everyone that goes to wyotech" so then he decides to tell me. "You wanna know why I can say that? Because of this (and points to his arm patch) im a trooper and I can say stuff like that but when people like you have a shitty attitude you just get more tickets thats why I gave you three instead of two. Then goes on to ask me if I have any family back home and if they worked in the law enforcement and I said no. He then goes on telling me how hard of a job it is and all kinds of other stupid bs.

To sum things up I got a $182 speeding ticket (ok so what I was in the wrong) this state is pathetic though the fine is only $80 the other $102 is tax stuff, a ticket for "driver required to be licensed" (he didnt put a cost), and a ticket for "failing to exhibit registration card" (he didnt put a cost). Also this was all audio/video recorded from the car. Or so he stated it was.

sounds like you need to learn how to deal with authority.
Ok I get pulled over so what I was in the wrong I simply accepted the tickets and went about my way. But tell me why its necessary for him to make these kinds of comments thats what makes me a bit iffy.

Sounds like the cop was a dick. From the sounds of it, he was polite to the officer the whole time, except maybe the mustangs comment was getting a little close. I would say file a complaint. You can't really do anything about the tickets though, cause you were in the wrong there.

Twice now cops have followed me onto my own street, into my own driveway practically, and put their lights on just because they think I'm dodging them or something. ********.... they don't even have any reason for pulling me over. Then when I open up my garage door and drive in, they look like the morons. heh

Tickets I understand. Not a problem ---- happens and I definetly was speeding I felt like garbage and wanted to get home even left class 4 hours early. Ill go to court to get off those 2 and pay the other one....As for filing a complaint do you have any idea how I could go about doing this?

well see i think the problem there was your failure to realize cops do whatever they want. you cant say anything or do anything that will help. you just have to sit back and hope they are gonna be nice. do you think they would believe you over a cop. and how hard do you think it is for him to loose that tape. cops can be dicks. but you cant really do nothin about it.

I've never had to file a complaint, but I would guess that you can call or stop at the station and talk to someone there about what to do. and you never know, you might get out of the last two tickets if you fight them.

Im pretty sure im gonna fight those last two. For one theres no cost on them (odd?) and when he decided to be half ass decent explaining the stuff he said that if I got my license taken care of which I will bc im goin home for vacation in 2 weeks and showed the registration stuff theyd let me be.

MOst people recieve treatment like this because they bring it on themselves. All you young pups need to learn something when pulled over, Let the officer talk and answer with short and Very respectfull answers. Do not try to get into a pissing match with the officer, you WILL loose. You all are a new generation of "I have to tell you my opinion" guess what? your opinion does not matter and is not needed when someone is doing their job. Maby it was a random stop that he would have just warned you about if you would have kept your mouth closed. I have been pulled over for about 40mph over the speed limit in the past and the Hiway patrol officer told me to slow down because I remained respectful.

The rest of you that read his post above remember one thing. There is 3 sides to every story: 1. drivers side (I was mistreated) 2.; Officers side (little bastard mouthed off to me) 3. the truth somewhere in the middle.

Reason why he diddn't add a cost to the tickets is because they may be a court mandated offence. Wish you luck in keeping/getting a new licence.

It is true, I've been pulled over many times cause my car attracts attention (not because I drive like a jackass and attract attention to myself) and treating them with some respect although they might not deserve it helps a lot.

Oh, plus having a few PBA cards on hand is nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Be a man. Next time shut your mouth and say lots of "Yes Sir" and "No Sir". The sooner you learn the game, the better off you'll be. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

**** that.. call up the court and reschedule your court date twice with some ******** excuses and see if that cop shows up... cause than you can file not guilty and there is no one there to protest... either way your going to be paying court fee's so its just if you want it off your record or not...

oh and don't ever lie to a cop.. got me out of a DUI
