i once saw a quote that said "its hard to respect a 12 second camaro when u drive a 14 second import" which is true, yes, people spend loads of money on cars.....NO MATTER WHAT TYPE, maybe these kids don't like a car that sounds like *** to them. I personally love muscle cars. Some of my friends drive 11 second imports and wouldnt drive a mustang or camaro or anything of that nature for any kind of money. I would rather start with a slow car and make it fast......what gets respect when u take a fast car and make it a little faster.....i would respect the kid that makes a 15 or 16 second car, drop 5 or 6 second off an ET from stock. its all personal preference, i dont love any type of CAR as im a mini trucker at heart, and i cry when i see anything low enuff to rip up reflectors. asking why the put mufflers on their rice rockets is like asking why you put slicks on your camaro.....it help the car in the long run.

Wow....I don't know where to start. Maybe we should define the term "ricer" and "rice"? I'm sure we have all seen riced out domestics as well as riced out imports. I will state this righ tnow to get it out of the way: I drive an import. I like it, have I done any mods to it? Yes, but nothing that I consider rice. To me rice includes some or all of the following: "performance" muffler on stock piping, 3 ft wings, led windshield washer nozzles, led valve stem caps, spinner rims, stickers for $h!t you don't have, vinyl lettering on your car that says what it is "firebird, civic, chevrolet" or w/e it may be (I mean let's face it, if someone doesn't know what your car is by looking at it, chances are they don't care anyway), air ride or hydraulics, and too many other things to list. Stuff that I don't really consider to be rice are things that actually help performance the basic i/h/e stuff. Just my $.02

i Will stick with my chevy truck but if i got the rice for free i would take it dont know how long it would last though it prob find itself in a nice big pit of whatever i put it in if not that i would sell it and put the money tords more stuff for my truck.
there is a difference between rice and import... rice you get horsepower from random vents on your front fenders and a non-functional hood scoop. get it right guys... imports get horsepower from people modding them

Altough I personally wouldnt consider air or sprees rice, I guess it makes sense as they are just for show and not for go, just like huge spoilers on FWD cars and stickers and crap. I just added a Type-R badge to my blender. It gave it 75 more rpm's.
I plan to upgrade the grinding blades to carbon fiber so it will go a little faster without all the weight from the stock blades.

Personally I also can't stand this whole domestic vs. import thing. It's garbage as far as I'm concerned. I appreciate cars from both "sides" if you will. I'm a car person, I don't discriminate (well except maybe against kia). I mean hell, how could you not like an 80's Monte Carlo SS or a Grand National, or just about any of the late 60's musclecars? How could ou not appreciatot appreciate the performance of a late model Supra or RX-7?

air/dros are not rice, the first use of them were on caddy's and hot rods. the import scene picked it off of them. so your sayin something NO MATTER WHAT IT IS if it doesnt add performance....ur car is rice. so all of us who drive imports, with big systems that may have kits/air/spoilers and all this is rice, (keep the spoiler in moderation) and also, i may be crazy but the cars actually do better at high speed with wings. i remember seeing a wheelie bar added to a FWD civic crx. now...IT RAN FASTER than without it, why the hell would this happen. i know why. but not everything with all these mods are "rice" my boy has a neon thats in the show circuit whenever possible but the car is amazing on the outside, system pounds, and its not the fastest thing in the world.....oh wait its domestic........it must be god.
I am not asian but have you guys ever thought of the term "ricer" as being offensive to them. Even though I don't know if they think twice about it but we don't call mustangs cracker-mobiles or Escalades chicken trucks or even lowriders as beaner boats. I'm not trying to start anything just to point out a double-standard.

Not "nomatter what it is" but at what point do you draw the line? I'm talking things that are extremely flashy which includes decals, huge spoilers, body kits, and like it or not, spinners and air. Again, I DO find those last two attractive when done right, but I'm just saying there is not a huge difference between those, and the more "classic" ricer additions.
