hello.

You may have seen that mixesdb stopped hosting downloads thisweek so I thought I'd post the links here before they disapear. Sorry its a bit messy & not sure if all the links work but most should be OK at the time of posting this. If you can add tracklistings to any of the mixes then post them below.

Mixes here are from about 1992 - 1995 9of course theres loads more from other years but thisera was my favourite.

User error?
Well, I managed to set timee aside today to look over my entire seetup. I double checked all the wiring and nothing was frayed or pinched. I took the Rockford t1000 out and swapped in another amp in its place. All the same wiring was used as soon as I powered the new amp up ... had my bass... So NO NOT USER ERROR the Rockford t1000 clearly has somethign internally wrong with it..

Anyone on the board with amp repair capabilities willing to repair it?

It's broken. And the problem likely isn't visible. Usually the smoked parts are the parts that were still good when some other part in the circuit with it shorted out internally. I know I can't take it for repair here, we are swamped, not sure of anyone else who I could send you to that would work on it for you, but you can always call RF and see what they say about repairing it.

i see fosgate is lieing about it's power now i'm finding it hard to beleve thats 1000 watt amp i'm looking at
Oh it does well over 1000w, clamped mine at 1600 @1.07ohm (starting at .5nominal). They do have fewer caps than most amps of this power rating, but the mosfets and heatsink are plenty big. Plus the board has huge traces (4oz I think). They definitely do not lie about power rating.

To the OP...I had 2 of these without a single problem for 1.5yrs, but I had a friend that blew several of them. He got his repaired in Mass. somewhere, I think it cost him $180 each. Fosgate put out a service bulletin a while back about making sure to keep the cover on (that covers that wires and controls) and not to strip wires near the amp. Apparently strands fall into the perforated case and short the amp. I've also heard of the metal fan screen falling (its hot glued on) and shorting the amp.

what was wrong with yours? what did it cost? how was the service? a few ppeople on here have posted bad experiences with them
I happen to be good friends with Scott, the owner. I had a blown power supply in mine. I don't remember how much he charged me, I think it was around $165 or so. I dropped off my amp on a Friday and got it back the following Tuesday. He called me and let me know when it was completed and I went and picked it up. Yes people have had bad experiences but I've done thousands of dollars of business with them and not one hiccup. Every business is going to have people ***** about it, that's just how it is. They do good work and Scott is one of the best. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
