RF punch xlc

I have (2) RF punch xlc subs that both have torn surrounds all the way around the subs. Is it worth the money to buy and install new surrounds? If I do I will have to put new dust caps on right? from what i've read I will have to shim the vc to keep the cone straight. I'm not afraid of doing the work, but is it even worth the money to do so? The subs are 10"

It would probably just need a full recone due to the difficulty removing the old surround from the cone body. Also due to the age, you may have problems finding the correct recone. Might be able to do a custom moving assembly from one of the custom sub guys here.

I was able to get the existing surround off of one of the subs, it was the only one I tried. Looking on Ebay i'm starting to think it's probably not even worth it. I would love to build my own sub sometime though. But it seems so expensive.
