I have a stock 110 amp alt now, could it be rewound to around 180? Would that be enough for around 2200 RMS?

When it comes to rewinding an alt, who does it and what kinds of prices to expect? I live in a smaller town and i'm not sure what kind of work i can get done. thanks

what is it off of? might be cheaper to buy a new high output alt.I'm in denver and there is a guy local that wanted $400 to rewind an alt for me.
Holy cow... its off an 01 for escape 4 cylender. Its about $200 for a 180 amp alt... bout the biggest iv seen..
