reverse mounting 2 12 R's

Just here...
I want to do a set up with 2 12 inch Alpine type R's and i was wondering how much performance is lost when reverse mounting the subs. I have to reverse mount the due to room and i want to for the looks. How will this affect their performance compared to regular mounting? Thanks

should actually raise their thermal capacity

some subs actually DO sound a bit differently when they're inverted

My L7's would try and extend into higher freq's inverted, which sounded like a$$

the low frequencies sounded exactly the same, tho

ya that's weird cuz i know with the infinity perfect vqs, they're rated 400 rms, 250 free-air.
Nobody is talking about free-air. I still want to know the logic of why somebody thinks that they will sound different. The only sound difference I can think of, besides enclosure volume, would be mechanical noises but even that would be drowned out pretty easily unless you were really close.

I just wanted to know the logic of why it sounded the same. I glad it does because i'm going to mount them theis way. Can you invert any sub?
