Returning open box HDTV to BB

Well, I bought a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 HDTV at Best Buy about 3 days ago. It was an open box item (last one in the store). I get it home, pop a dvd in, and there is a yellowish tint at the top of the screen when the scene is black. I have researched this, and found it to be a normal problem with this set called the "Green Blob". Anybody that works at Best Buy think they will take it back? Are you sure it just doesn't need to be degaussed?

 
Im not really sure what it needs, but I think when you spend 3k on a tv it should look right when you get it home //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Also, I want to get an xbr2 instead of the xbr1 that is said to be plauged with problems......(should have looked it up before I bought it!!)

 
is that on an open box item, or just any item.......b/c the back of the reciept says they have a 30 day return policy, but on cameras/camcorders/projectors they have 15 day.

Just go return it as soon as possible and see what happens.

It is probably a very easy thing to fix, that might even go away on its own. But if you don't want that model, return it and pick up a new one.

 
Yeah, thats what Im going to try and do. Im going to try and get them to refund my money, and Ill just order an xbr2 (the 2006 model) online...

 
The one here in hillbillyville will take open box returns . Had a similar problem with a tv I purchased last year . Bought it one weekend , took it back the next //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyways, they should take it back. You should have the proof of purchase and it should come wiht a warranty. Its no different from buying a display model in the store.
