Resistance of woofers alone?

Anyone know what the resistance of alpine type-r component woofers are by themselves? I wanna ditch the tweeters, and use the wofoers alone for my rear stage...

the tweeters are TOO BRIGHT, and get really distorted....

and ya, gains are set correctly

just didn't know if they were 2, or 8 ohms without the tweets

I'm sure they are the same ohm as the whole speaker system is rated... if it's rated as a 4 ohm component sytems, the woofers will be 4 ohm. Sometimes tweeters can be 6 or 8 ohms, but not the woofer.

If the comp set is rated as being 4ohm, then there's a very high probability that the woofer is 4ohm.

Easy way to check is with a DMM though. If it measures 3.X ohm, then it's a 4ohm nominal woofer.

alright, sounds good.

i was more worried about underpowering it than overpowering..

just didn't want this to be a waste of my time and only be able to get 40 odd watts rms through the woof
