I giggled when I saw his resignation announcement on Cnn.com this morning. It seems like this kinda shit always happens towards the end of a president's term. Sort of a "house cleaning".

does anybody know why they even cared about alberto gonzales? or is it just that media hyped it to make an issue. far worse things happen in washington. BTW, when Bill Clinton took office, he fired all the U.S. attornies and noone said a thing. how many got fired under Bush's administration? 8?

Washington, Aug. 27 (crAP) -- Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, five minutes after having submitted his resignation to President George W. Bush, was asked by a passer-by whether the rumor was true that he had resigned.

"I have no memory of having submitted such a letter or of having any conversation with the President about anything at all," Mr. Gonzales replied.

The former Attorney General immediately returned to his office at the Department of Justice, though he could not remember what he was supposed to do there.

True, Gonzales was just trying hard to cover it up and when he was questioned about it, well he might as well have pleeded the 5th. Im guessing he was just used as a fall guy, but thats going beyond the scope of what I know.

This administration is the most corrupt since Nixon and probably second only to Nixon all time. It is absolutely amazing how many illegal and unconstitutional acts they get away with yet Clinton gets a hummer at his desk and lies about it and he gets impeached, its a sad state of affairs.
