Replacing Belts On A 1999 Mitsubishi Galant

How do you do this, I hate front wheel drive cars. This is my financee car and it needs belts. I see a bolt on the alternator bracket that seems to lossen the alty to remove the belt, is this correct? On the Power stearing belt, there is a bolt under it on a bracket that seems to lossen the idler pulley, is this the correct way to remove the power stearing belt? Any help woud be appriciated, i hate going to pay $60 to put these on. I hate these fukin side ways motors. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

shit thsoe things are about the easiest cars to work on!

the alt. has a fixing bolt at the bottom. loosen that. then loosen the bolt attached to the slider arm to move the whole alt backward.

ps pump has a hole in the pulley for access to teh fixing bolts. just line up the pulley with the bolts and loosen them. there's also a bolt on the opposite side of the pump where it attaches to the bracket.

the a/c has a sliding tensioner. you have to loosen the pulley nut, then adjust the adjuster bolt up toloosen the tensioner up and down.

oh, it's much easier and faster to just pull that side motor mount. then you have tons of room. put a jack under the oil pan using ablock of wood to insulate the pan. remove the motor mount, then raise and lower the jack to get access to what you need. when you're done, raise the engine back up, stick the motor mount back on, tighten the bolts and release teh jack.
